Abstract Tile: unit 1
When I look at this tile I see an abstract pattern on the top right of it and a braided coil going across the lower half of it. I also see patterns I can recognize such as the rectangles and squares at the bottom half of the tile. I finally I observe many circular prints on the left hand side of the tile. I used geometric and organic elements on this tile. The geometric elements are the overlapping rectangles/ squares at the bottom of the tile and the complex pattern on the top right. Also the little zigzag item on the top left of the tile is geometric. The organic elements are 3 coil braid and the indentations of the circles. As I was in the process of making my tile I didn't have a complete idea in my head of what exactly I was doing . When I started putting on the prints and patterns an idea finally came to my head and I created this tile. My intention was to possibly make a tile that had flowers and other aspects on it that really didn't match so it was unique.
But as you can see, I put totally different things on and they all work very well together. My tiles meaning is that things can be messy but after you put the pieces together they can all workout. I think that my tile was a great success I really like it. The process had its up and downs and reflecting back on it I remember how much effort I put into this. I think it turned out a lot better than I had imagined.
