I see a flower made out of spoons and it looks to be paper mach. The base is painted like it would look like in the nature. Also the petals look to be a shiny bronze color which can reflect light. In the second photo I see a bright red flower that looks to be painted and all the petals are the exact same length /shape. Again it shows the viewer that this flower look like what it does in nature. The element of design I used was organic because it represents nature and form because its in the iconic shape of a real flower. My inspiration was grandpa because he makes up-cycled sculptures. He particularly makes up-cycled flowers and I wanted to show him what my idea was of up-cycled flower. While I was making both my flowers I was thinking about how I can make them look kinda normal but also show that they are supposed to be up-cycled. The function of my sculpture is just to look pretty but also warn people that if we keep up climate change/global warming we may not have any more flowers and the result will be people making up-cycled art as nature. I think my up-cycled experience was successful. I really like how my art turned out. Reflecting on my process I think I could've put more time into thinking about what I was going to do and execute it better.
